Doctrine - What We Believe

We believe the Bible.

We are an independent Church, No board in another city, state or country dictates our actions. We are people from Quincy and the south shore, and we are following The Bible and impacting our community as The Spirit of God leads us.

We don't follow the creeds of men. We follow the timeless Word of God.

We don't try to vaguely veil what we believe in "Church Talk," We very plainly, lovingly and boldly stand for the truth of God's Word.

The Bible says Heaven and Hell are literal places. The Bible says that all people will spend eternity in either Heaven or Hell, and the only way to Heaven is by believing on and praying for Jesus Christ to save you.

We believe the King James Bible, The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the only verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed. Therefore, they are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only English translation used by this church and its ministries. It shall be a requirement of this church that any ministry receiving support from this church shall exclusively use the King James Version of the Bible when ministering to English speaking people. When ministering to people of other languages, these ministries supported by this church shall use the Scriptures which are translated from the Textus Receptus when available.

(2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21, Psalm 12:6-7, Deut 4:1-2, Prov 30:5-6, Mark 13:31, Rev 22:18-19)

We believe that God is a person, eternally existing as a Trinity, manifesting Himself in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We further believe that these three are one God, but separate in personality and work.

(Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30,33,14:10,16,18,23, 26; Rom 8:9, 1 Cor. 3:16, 2 Cor. 13:14)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, eternally existing yet born of a virgin. Being God, He lived a sinless life, making His death on the Cross both sufficient and substitutionary for the sins of the whole world. After making atonement for the sins of the world with His own blood, He rose from the grave, & ascended into Heaven with a glorified body. He is seated at the right hand of the Father as Head of the Church, making intercession for the saints as our High Priest.

(John 1:1-3; Isa. 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil. 2:5-8; Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; Eph. 1:7;

1 Pet. 2:24; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Acts 1:9-10; Rom. 8:34; II Cor. 5:10; Heb. 9:24; 7:25; 1 John 2:1-2; Rev. 20:11-15)

We believe that man is lost in sin and must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. We believe that for lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential. The salvation of a manís soul is by grace alone through personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by repentance (change of mind) toward God and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. Salvation is freely offered to all who will receive it and results in a changed life. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by Godís power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

(Matt. 12:31-32; John 1:12; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9; 5:13; John 6:37-40; 10:27-30;

Rom. 8:1; 38-39; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 1 Pet. 1:4-5)

We are an Independent Baptist Church. No board controls our local body of believers. We believe that the Church, which is the body and the espoused bride of Christ, is solely made up of born-again persons. We believe that the local church is solely made up of born again persons who have been scripturally baptized. We believe that the local church is a group of believers baptized in water; assembled together for edification, exhortation, and evangelism as commanded by Christ in the Great Commission. We believe Godís program today is centered in the local New Testament church, which is independent and missionary minded.

(1 Cor. 12:12-14; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-27; Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11;

Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1, 4; 1 Cor. 3:9, 16; 5:4-7, 13; 1 Pet. 5:1-4)

Furthermore, we believe the Church ought to be an atmosphere of God's Love, Truth, & Grace. The New Testament Church should be modeled after the original church from the book of Acts. A spirit-filled, gospel-focused, Biblically-grounded atmosphere of grace, reaching the world with the gospel, while growing believers from all stages and walks of life.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is coming again in the air visably to rapture His Church and to reward their service after much tribulation. The unbelievers left behind will go through a period called the Wrath of The Lamb, after which Christ shall set up His Kingdom of one thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all the ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while believers will spend eternity in the fullness of joy in Heaven with the Lord.

(Matthew 24:1-35, Mark 13:1-37, 1 Thess. 1:10, 4:13-18; 2 Thess 2:3-12; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 14:4-11; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 5-7, 19:11-16; 20:1-6)

We believe in living the great commandment, fulfilling the great commission, separation from worldliness, conservative family values, and modesty and distinction in dress.

 We hold to the historic Baptist position of Biblical separation. We are Biblical Fundamentalists and repudiate unscriptural religious trends of the day: Ecumenicalism, Neo-Orthodoxy, New Evangelicalism, and the excesses of the Charismatic Movement.
